EVENT DESCRIPTION:
"In addition to increasing a project manager’s potential to ensure their individual project’s succeed, and understanding of PPM enables project managers to take an influential role in helping their organization raise the potential for all enterprise projects and programs to succeed."
A recent analyst study found that 75% of organizations are “doing Project and Portfolio Management (PPM).” This finding could lead many to believe all is well with this strategic enterprise business process that is so essential to project success. This is hardly the case as studies also show that PPM is still generally immature in enterprises today. Though almost every organization will lay claim to doing PPM, few are actually doing it right. This deficiency places an enormous strain on project managers, who struggle mightily to successfully deliver projects born of poor investment decision-making and a lack of appropriate project governance. Many enterprises will continue to suffer high project failure rates until they comprehend and appreciate the full scope and potential of PPM, and determine where their organization stands.
Steve Romero spent the past five years traveling around the world visiting one PPM-challenged enterprise after another. He developed the “PPM S.C.A.D. Model.” to help organizations quickly understand and assess their capability in this critical and complex business process. This presentation provides an overview of the S.C.A.D. model and a simple PPM maturity assessment. Attendees will be able to use this model to understand the nature and potential of PPM and to easily engage their organizations in a discussion and assessment of their PPM capability.
By attending this event, Professionals will be able to...
- Apply a simple, easy-to-remember model to understanding PPM
- Quickly determine their organizations PPM strengths and challenges
- Simply and easily engage project stakeholders in discussions about their organization’s PPM capabilities
- Help their organizations to determine their PPM proficiency and establish goals and targets for PPM performance
In addition to increasing a project manager’s potential to ensure their individual project’s succeed, and understanding of PPM enables project managers to take an influential role in helping their organization raise the potential for all enterprise projects and programs to succeed.
