Join Us

Overview

Join us for a 3 part dialogue exploring how we in the Bay Area can work with, be with, stand with, be in solidarity with our grassroots partners and friends around the world.   We will “sit together” under the Baobab just as people have done through millenia, reflecting together on our global village and how to support each other in our work.

Through interactive dialogue, reflection, and community building exercises, we will spend time grappling with and listening for wisdom to guide our work. The intention is to create a fun, supportive space to weave together our experiences and insights into something greater than any of us could uncover individually.

Why we want YOU to join us

We need YOU and your perspective and experience.  All of us are doing the best to make a difference in the world, and some of us wonder…how can we be more effective? How can we be with each other in ways that will more likely lead to the transformation we all hope to see?   How can we support each other HERE locally in this journey?  How can we bring more of who we are into our partnerships?

New paradigms and visions are emerging, and we need space, dialogue, reflection and excitement to help us shift into new models and take our collective efforts to the next level.  We also hope to strengthen interconnections between people and organizations who are connected globally and based in the Bay Area.

The hope is that we will come away with…

  • Collective wisdom on these questions and your questions
  • Deeper connections  (and a sense of interconnection) to other globally-engaged in the Bay Area than typical events, and a stronger community.

Each gathering will build on the previous.  The questions that arise in the first circle will form the basis of the world cafe dialogue, and we hope that people will experiment between gatherings with new approaches they want to use.  Most events are single-time, so this model is experimenting with sustained interaction over time.  We know people are busy, so we are hoping you will join us for all three, but it is not necessary.  Each gathering will be its own experience.  We will be informed by people who have thought deeply about these questions, but we will rely primarily not on experts but on our personal collective wisdom to guide us.   Let’s have fun!

What is Globalicious

The intention of Globalicious is to support the community of Bay Area globally-engaged in realizing the transformation we all hope to see in the world through heartfelt in-person community gatherings. We are experimenting with different methods of community gathering to see what resonates and works.    This is related to a larger initiative to create a sustained gathering space for all of us - a room of our own.

We’ve identified several dimensions of heartfelt support for deepening community engagement:

  1. Breathing ROOM:  space to decompress, listen for what matters
  2. Shared INQUIRY  (gathering “Under the Baobab” as a community)
  3. Connecting with what YOU LOVE

Thank you for all that you do!
