Dear Friends,
Need some down time? We hope you will come to one of our global spirit hikes planned for May and June. These are experiments in community-building and connection among the ‘global spirits’ of the SF Bay, in support of the transformation we all hope to see. This is part of a larger Globalicious effort to create an ongoing gathering space for the globally-engaged here.
Please use these little ‘journeys’ as an opportunity to relax, open up space for what matters to you, and to visit with a globally-engaged or international friend you have been hoping to see (feel free to invite). If there is enough interest, we will keep doing them.
May 12: Exploring Hidden Villa, 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm (approx), Los Altos Hills. Those interested can stay and join us at a cafe afterwards.
Theme: May 19th is the anniversary of when the UN founding delegates visited Muir Woods in memory of FDR, so we will reflect on that dream of a world without war.
Save the date: next hike is June 16th in the afternoon.

Directions: 10 minutes off 280 at El Monte exit. Meet at the parking lot (not the first one, but all the way into Hidden Villa next to Wolken Education Center) at 1:30. Please arrive on time because we will have our opening circle at 1:30 and head out soon after. Trail is 3-4 miles, moderate. Kids welcome. Look for orange umbrella.
Theme: Anniversary of the UN Walk at Muir Woods. As a reminder of the walk in Muir Woods that delegates to the founding of the United Nations took May 19th, 1945, we will open with a reflection on the remarkable spirit of the UN to end war and conflict.
Hidden Villa is where I first kissed a banana slug as a child, and would love to have you explore it too. In addition to oak-filled trails looking out on the mountains, it has a working farm with goats and more.
Global Spirits hike is an initiative of Globalicious, my new endeavor to support the global community with heartfelt gatherings, and is also supported by Transition Palo Alto.
