SoMe Club: How ADOT Engages Social Media

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) uses social media to provide an open source for two-way communication. Join us in learning their strategy and content creation to receive likes, views, and followers. Most importantly, they have captured an awareness beyond traffic reports and updates.
Nicole Sherbert, Assistant Communication Director, ADOT
Nicole Sherbert is the Assistant Communication Director for the Arizona Department of Transportation where she oversees the agency’s creative team. She is currently heading up the ADOT website redesign project and launched and manages most of the department’s social media portfolio, which, in its first year of implementation garnered more than 1,200 Facebook Likes, 52,000 YouTube views and 160,000 blog page views. The ADOT Twitter feed, which has been in use for about three years, has more than 14,000 followers. Prior to joining ADOT, Nicole worked in media relations for the City of Austin, Texas. She has also managed strategic communication for various nonprofit groups and political campaigns and spent several years as a reporter covering Texas politics for a statewide radio network.
