PUBLIC GLASS

Public Glass is San Francisco's center for the glass arts, providing a collaborative environment for creativity with glass through a state-of-the-art public facility and educational programs. In 1997 a group of glass artists transformed a 5,000 square foot cabinet shop located at 1750 Armstrong Avenue in San Francisco into Public Glass, the Bay Area's first public-access glass-arts facility. Since 1997, the organization has offered studio rentals and a comprehensive array of classes in glassblowing, casting, fusing, and flameworking. As the only non-profit center for glass-working in San Francisco, Public Glass is proud to have recruited and trained the majority of Bay Area glassworkers, many of whom have gone on to become well-known artists.
