MOCA and Haitian Historical Museum and Archives commemorate Haitian Heritage Month byco-presenting a special panel discussion on the impact of natural and man-made disasters have on culture and the role artists play in the aftermath of abrupt ruptures with the past. Panelists will discuss how regional and international financial and philanthropic intervention drives new paths of creativity and the dissemination and interpretation of culture.

Panelists for “Haiti after the Earthquake” are: 
Alexandra Barbot, Director Haitian Historical Museum and Archives 
Phillippe Dodard, Director of National School of Arts in Haiti 
Professor Jean-Germain Gros, Associate Professor, Political Science and Public Policy, University of Misouri, St. Louis. 
Babacar M'bow, Managing Editor, Encyclopedia of the African Diaspora 
Gregory Vorbe, artist

Bonnie Clearwater will moderate with a special introduction by Daniel Fils-Aime, Chairman, Haitian-American Historical Society.
