Start Your Engines #6
The wait is finally over! Impact Engine applications open May 7th and we are excited to invite you to join us for an application launch party co-hosted with The Ideation Conference.
We are gearing up to receive applications from the most talented and passionate impact entrepreneurs in the country. It's an exciting time and we want to celebrate with you at:
6:45pm on May 8th at the River East Arts Center.
Impact Engine's Managing Director, Chuck Templeton, will be presenting more information about how to be part of Impact 1, the first cohort of impact entrepreneurs in Impact Engine. To make certain this is our largest and most exciting event yet, we are teaming up with The !deation Conference to get Chicago jazzed about social innovation.
- CONFERENCE + EVENT:
If you would like to attend both the conference + our event, we invite you to receive a special 65% discount by using the code "IMPACT" at their registration page. This is a private code so please don't share with the public. It's designed especially for you, Friends of Impact Engine (i.e. the people on this email), who might benefit from this special event. Registering for the conference will grant you access to our event, so you do not need to also register here.
- EVENT ONLY:
If you only want to attend the launch party and not the entire conference, then please purchase a ticket here on Eventbrite to join us for the Tuesday networking session.
Our goals for the conference are simple, but bold: facilitate in-depth, peer-to-peer conversations that lead to actionable pathways for practitioners, provide meaningful access to thought-leaders, and accelerate innovation through new ideas and technology. The theme of our 2012 conference will be “Be Human.” We believe that what connects all of our passions and pursuits towards good is our humanity. Humanity cuts through culture, socio-economic boundaries, politics, religion, etc. There’s something profoundly beautiful and powerful about tapping into our humanity. It reminds us as to the why of our how and what. Our hope is that the stories and ideas shared during our 2012 conference will cause us to re-engage what it means to be human, develop meaningful relationships, and create new paradigms for thinking about human good.As a thought-leader in social engagement, we think you would enjoy and benefit much from attending our event. Some of our past presenters have included the likes of Scott Harrison (Founder of charity: water), Scott Belsky (CEO of Behance), Wade Kawasaki (CFO of DUB), Ben Keesey (CEO of Invisible Children), Beth Kanter (Author/Blogger), Brian Cooper (CEO of A Glimmer of Hope), Ben Morrison (Comedian), Tyler Merrick (Founder of Project7), and Sean Carasso (Founder of Falling Whistles). We have already confirmed speakers for this year's event including Jacquelline Fuller (Director, Charitable Giving and Advocacy at Google), Claire Diaz Ortiz (Leads Social Innovation at Twitter), Patty Huber (G-Team Director at Groupon), Nicole Hansen (Actress & President of Green Galaxy Enterprises), Keith Kall (Exec Director of National Foundation Corporation Development for World Vision), and many more!

Impact Engine
Impact Engine is a 16-week business accelerator that supports for-profit businesses making the world a better place. We empower our entrepreneurs, program mentors, and investors to make a collective impact on society by applying smart business principles to the world's greatest problems.
Impact 1, our inaugural cohort, included early stage companies addressing today's societal or environmental challenges. From empowering women in rural India to improving education in the United States, this class includes a diverse group of entrepreneurs tackling both domestic and global issues.
Our accelerator program is designed to provide entrepreneurs the capital, business resources, and network they need to build successful companies that positively impact the world. Our ultimate goal is to build up the broader impact community in Chicago and beyond.
A special thanks to our Impact 2 program sponsors: INVENTABLES, Inc., Quarles & Brady, SRAM Corporation, and Synergy Law Group.
