Music Opportunity Program hosts its Solo Recitals at UAB Hulsey Recital Hall! Two recital times: 2:00 pm & 4:00 pm. All concerts/recitals are free and open to the public.

The mission of the Music Opportunity Program (MOP) is to provide access to string instrument instruction and orchestra participation for youngsters in the Greater Birmingham community.

MOP serves as an essential partner by providing our children with a variety of ways to develop their skills and confidence with nurturing, high quality music instruction and opportunities to showcase their talents.

The Music Opportunity Program (MOP) is open to students eager to receive string instrument instruction. MOP is also the home for the Alabama Youth Symphony which is a full orchestra.

A 501c3 nonprofit organization, the Music Opportunity Program has provided music education in the Greater Birmingham Area for more than 35 years.

MOP graciously accepts donations to continue providing instruments on loan, classes, private instruction, and orchestra participation.
