Mobile phones made cameras ubiquitous and programmable. In this talk I will discuss how programmable cameras can be made to take better pictures, and which other applications are enabled by mobile cameras.
I'll discuss the mobile visual ecosystem, from hardware and software elements to standard APIs, from NVIDIA Research perspective. I will also discuss some ideas how the mobile devices may be used in the future, what are the roles of cloud and local processing, and discuss to
role of (battery) power, the key limiting technical component of mobile computing.
