Saturday, September 12, 2009 from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM (PT)
If you are planning to adopt a child of different race or culture, locally or internationally, with an agency or MCFD - this workshop is for you.
Come to AFABC, network and learn with other adoptive families just like you.
Topics include: Attachment concerns for children and their families, potential Medical Issues, and family matters related to Race, Culture and Heritage. A panel of experienced adoptive families and grown adoptees will welcome your questions in the last hour of the workshop.
Logistics: Park in any spot in the lot in front of the building. Ring the doorbell and we will buzz you in. Coffee and morning food provided. We suggest you bring a bag lunch as there are not a lot of quick and easy lunch options close by on a Saturday. Adults only please. For more info contact Yvonne ydevitt@bcadoption.com / 604.320.7330 ext 106 *** Please call us to find out if this workshop is wheelchair accessible. ***

Via MichelinAFABC is a non-profit organization that provides province-wide support services and information to people who are beginning to think about adoption, people who have decided to adopt, and those who have already had a child or children join their family. AFABC also plays a significant role in promoting awareness of the thousands of BC children in the care of the Ministry of Children and Family Development, who are waiting for a family.
AFABC was started around a kitchen table in 1977 by a small group of adoptive parents who needed to share ideas, information, and support.
