Adoption 101 Workshop is your first step!
Come to AFABC, network with other families and learn what you need to know to make decisions about your adoption journey.
A full day, chock full of information about all of your adoption options and the key issues for adoptive families. Topics include: Adoption Today in BC, BC's Waiting Child Program, Local Infant Adoption, International Adoption, Homestudies, Grief & Loss, Attachment, Openness and your Next Steps. You will take home current, accurate adoption info and a basic understanding about the key issues for adoptive families.
Logistics: Park in any "reserved for AFABC" spot in the lot in front of the building. Ring the doorbell and we will buzz you in. Coffee and morning food provided. We suggest you bring a bag lunch as there are not a lot of quick and easy lunch options close by on a Saturday. Adults only.

Via MichelinAFABC is a non-profit organization that provides province-wide support services and information to people who are beginning to think about adoption, people who have decided to adopt, and those who have already had a child or children join their family. AFABC also plays a significant role in promoting awareness of the thousands of BC children in the care of the Ministry of Children and Family Development, who are waiting for a family.
AFABC was started around a kitchen table in 1977 by a small group of adoptive parents who needed to share ideas, information, and support.
