"Digital media has not only contributed to the increase of easy access to free information, it has also made way to a rise in plagiarism amongst students. A recent Pew Research centre report, found that 55% of College presidents say that plagiarism in students’ papers has increased over the past 10 years". (2011)

 

Dr John Barrie, is the Executive Chairman and co-founder of iParadigms the company that created Turnitin, the world leader in plagiarism prevention software in 1998. John will be in giving a seminar on Academic integrity, at the University of KwaZulu natal on the 23rd May 2012.

An enigmatic and engaging speaker, John has written articles on academic integrity, plagiarism and Turnitin, spoken at numerous events, conferences worldwide, where he has presented papers on academic integrity.

Turnitin is the world leader for plagiarism prevention, and not only comprises of originality check, but also features which facilitate online submission and marking of student work allow you to mark students work online (GradeMark), and give students the opportunity to review each other’s work (PeerMark).

This two hour event will give you the opportunity to ask Dr Barrie any question you may have on Turnitin and how they system can best help your institution.
