Most of us have heard the expression “A picture is worth a thousand words”.  Never before has this expression been embraced with as much fervor as it has been in today’s competitive and difficult economic climate.
 
And never before has such credence been placed in the experts who assist in creating a “picture” that will influence the chances of getting hired, or promoted, or connected.  
 
Step It Up
 
We have targeted professionals in the advertising, marketing, public relations and technology sectors, among others, because we understand that image plays an important role to their success. We are offering these professionals an opportunity to meet the experts – the image consultants, the clothing consultants, hair, skin and makeup consultants, professional coaches – in a social and professional networking milieu, and are quite confident that the connections will prove beneficial to both the experts and their potential clients.


Speed Networking

In addition to standard product exposure, Step It Up will be engaged in a speed networking session between 6:30pm and 7:30pm.  Facilitators will be on-hand to ensure that formal introductions are made between professionals and experts alike.  This is quite a unique aspect of the event and proves our commitment to professional networking.

Michel Neray has a science undergraduate degree from the University of Waterloo, a second-degree black belt in Karate and an MBA from McGill University. He has has over 25 years of experience as an award-winning copywriter, an Internet pioneer, a tradeshow pitchman and a senior sales and marketing executive. Michel has worked with major corporations including Honda, Volvo, Upjohn, Alias-Wavefront, Nikon, The Royal Bank, The Quaker Oats Company, Marathon Brokerage, Guardian Mutual Funds, Mackenzie Financial and many, many others -- big and small. An online pioneer, Mr. Neray was one of the first marketing professionals to embrace the Internet by building websites as early as 1993. In 1994, Michel co-authored a book entitled “The Great Crossover: Personal Confidence in the Age of the Microchip”, which made it to Jack Canfield’s Achiever’s Recommended Reading List. Michel founded Portfolios.com in 1995, the world’s first online source directory for creative professionals and one of the first websites based on community generated content. Since creating The Essential Message in 2003, Michel has helped thousands of independent professionals and entrepreneurs as well as growing corporations find a better way to differentiate, position and brand themselves. In 2005, his chapter, "Everything Starts With A Conversation" was selected as the lead for the book, "Sales Gurus Speak Out" and re-published in 2008 for 'Awakening The Workplace Volume 3'. He is also a co-author of "In the Company of Leaders" (2008) with 40 top North American leadership experts and authors.

Scott Stratten is the President of Un-Marketing.com. He is an expert in Viral, Social, and Authentic Marketing which he calls Un-Marketing. It's all about positioning yourself as a trusted expert in front of target market, so when they have the need, they choose you, That's UN-Marketing.
He has amassed over 25,000 followers on Twitter, without using any automated systems, cheat programs or outsourcing. He was voted the top influencer on Twitter, a social media site with over 7 million users. His recent Tweet-a-thon raised over $16,000 for child hunger, in less than 12 hours.

His company has made over 65 movies online that have been seen over 60 million times and has generated massive profits and lists for himself and his clients. One of the movies was chosen by the Chicago Bears as their biggest motivator towards their Super Bowl run a few years ago, while another made their client over $5 million in 7 days.
He recently appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Mashable.com, USA Today, CNN.com and Fast Company. That plus $5 gets him a coffee anywhere in the world.
