Local and national marketing gurus currently leveraging social media for their companies and clients discuss the latest trends and share case studies to help you identify the tools and tactics to achieve success.

What should you be focusing on in 2012 and beyond? Our presenters address these topics and more.

Sarah Vining is the marketing manager for The National Conference Center outside of Washington, DC. There, she oversees the company's public relations, advertising, communications and digital strategy including social media. She is the editor and writer of Conference Center Blog and Bits of Bliss. Sarah's work in digital marketing has resulted in bookings, site tours, publication features and several honors. Prior to joining The National Conference Center, she completed two internships in Hawaii at Team Vision and Sheila Donnelly and Associates. Sarah is a graduate of the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC.

Brent Shiratori, director of strategic planning and account service at Matsumoto and Clapperton, has helped local and global brands with developing effective marketing strategies for the past decade. His online marketing company, AIDIA Studio, was recently acquired by Matsumoto and Clapperton. Brent began his marketing career in Hawaii working with clients that have included American Savings Bank, the Hawaii Department of Health, Hawaii Pacific Health, and Prince Reports Hawaii. He has also worked with The Walt Disney Company, Hewlett-Packard, and VISA. He has been featured in Advertising Age and recognized both locally and nationally by the American Advertising Federation.

Dan Zelikman is a recent addition to the 'funemployment' movement and is a founder in two recently launched projects, screen2play (an independent team of filmmakers) and Mentalpez (a boutique tech shop helping startups launch). He manages his funemployment ventures on Mentalpez's recent launch, Tracky, where he acts as the team's resident "Marketing Dude and Community Guy." Dan brings over ten years of marketing and business development experience to projects, having worked on Wall Street and as the Director of Digital at Hawaii's largest agency. He recently finished working with eBay founder Pierre Omidyar on a public interest journalism startup Honolulu Civil Beat.

PARKING:

Parking in the Bishop Square garage WILL NOT be validated. Ample parking is available in downtown Honolulu with one of the more reasonable lots being the Alii Tower garage (off Alakea Street).

Reservation and Cancellation Policy:
Due to the increased cost of doing business, reservations made via credit card will be assessed a nominal processing fee. Advance registration will close at 3 p.m. on the day prior to the event. After that, a $5 walk-in fee will apply. Due to out-of-pocket expenses incurred, there is a $5 cancellation fee for reservations made via credit card; no refunds will be issued for cancellations received after the deadline; and no- shows will be invoiced.
