Baby & Me Yoga (Wednesday)
Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM (EDT)
Join us for a fun and friendly yoga class, tailored especially for moms and young children! The class is appropriate for children between the ages 6 weeks and 3 years, and mothers (or fathers or caregivers!) of all ages. Mother and child will work together to practice traditional yoga poses (adapted to be accomplished with babes in arms), as well as songs, games, and exercises to benefit both mother and child. For new and nursing mothers, this is a wonderful way to ease yourself back into a regular yoga practice, without leaving your little one at home. The atmosphere of this class will be casual and fun, differing week-by-week depending on the moods and energy of the mothers and children who attend!
If you have recently given birth, please be sure to speak with your medical caregiver about when it is appropriate for you to resume physical activity.
Registration is $70 for a six-week series. The dates for this series are:

About the Instructor
Liz Newberry, RYT was first introduced to the practice of yoga in 2000, during the course of her studies as a dance minor at Allegheny College. Before becoming a yoga instructor, Liz spent time teaching modern dance and creative movement for children. She earned her 200 hour yoga teacher certification through 3rd Street Yoga’s year-long training program in 2009, and has been teaching in the Pittsburgh area ever since. Liz began teaching prenatal yoga when she was pregnant with her daughter, Claire. Liz obtained her prenatal yoga teacher certificate through Janice Clarfield at Studio DC in Washington, DC. As a prenatal yoga instructor, Liz strives to help students find a safe, meaningful, and enjoyable practice that not only nurtures the body, but also taps into the dynamic emotions that come along with pregnancy.
