Do You Still Dream
"DO YOU STILL DREAM?"
A TRIBUTE TO MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.
"DO YOU STILL DREAM?" A TRIBUTE TO MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR., tells a story of the greatest Civil Rights leader to ever live. We often hear about his accomplishments through his struggles, but now we have a chance to learn more about the life of the man known as Martin. The play is set in the early years of Martin's life as a young boy in the home of his parents, Michael and Alberta. He is being raised by a mom and dad that believe in a fight for freedom and equality for all. Along with his sister, Christine, we see the lessons that are taught in a house where freedom fighters are raised.
From his early years, we move into his teen years and then into the life we learned about. We meet his wife Coretta and see the most intimate moments of the King's home. We learn that he is more than the man that we all know and have learned about over the years. He is a son, a brother, a husband and a father. If you ask anyone, they can tell you exactly where they were and what they were doing on the day of the Birmingham bombing that took the lives of four little girls. Or they can tell you where they were where when the Montgomery Bus Boycott began or they can share with you were they were when he was assassinated. Did you ever stop to think about his family? How did they find out? What were their reactions? "DO YOU STILL DREAM?" A TRIBUTE TO MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR., answers those questions that no one really thinks about
