Ger-Nis is “Cooking the Books” again! Are you unsure about what to do for an entree when you plan a vegetarian dinner? Whether you’re a long-standing vegetarian or an omnivore looking to incorporate a few more meatless dishes into your week, it can sometimes be easy to get into a veggie rut. In his new cookbook Herbivoracious, Michael Natkin is all about reinvigorating vegetarian cuisine with modern techniques and bold, authentic flavors. He’s coming to Ger-Nis as part of our Ger-Nis Cooks the Books Series to teach us a thing or two about easy vegetarian recipes for even the busiest families. As a popular vegetarian blogger (www.herbivoracious.com) and a new cookbook author, Michael knows what he’s talking about. You’ll learn what grown-up vegetarian food is all about, both experimental and provocative, and intensely flavored in a way that will appeal to a sophisticated and adventurous global palate. Michael will be able to answer your questions and, by the end of the class, you’ll be ready to make yourself some prodigious vegetarian dishes with a newly acquired zest for originality and creativity in the kitchen- exactly the traits that have made his blog the go-to destination for new and tasty ideas in vegetarian eating.

Recipes: Chanterelle Banh Mi Bites, Green Mango Salad, Banh Xeo - Crispy Vietnamese Crepe (with Nuoc Cham), Shinn Estates Wine

Class Type: Part of the Ger-Nis Cooks the Books Series
