Sunset Triangle Tour
Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 5:30 PM (PDT)
Los Angeles, CA
If you've passed through Silver Lake in the past month, you've no doubt noticed Sunset Triangle, a brand-new electric green polka-dot public space. L.A.'s first pedestrian plaza is a pilot project created by closing one block of Griffith Park Boulevard to cars for one year, and adding chairs, tables, and planters. The space itself was designed by Frank Clementi of Rios Clementi Hale Studios, as part of a group called Streets for People, which is hoping to bring the concept to communities across the city. On Wednesday, April 25, Clementi will be joined by public health officials Margot Ocañas and Anna Peccianti, who will tell the story behind the process and lead a tour of this incredible transformed space, which is being used for everything from coffee-sipping to bike-riding to basketball-playing to bike-tuning. Then we'll walk across the street to Cliff's Edge, which has also seen a transformation of sorts: The addition of celebrity chef Ben Bailly and a revamped cocktail menu.

When & Where
design east of La Brea
part design lab, part social experiment
A semi-regular gathering of Los Angeles design professionals living, working, and experimenting east of La Brea.
Each month we feature a designer in the context of their “lab,” whether it’s their own studio, workshop, or factory; or inside the restaurant, bar, or house they designed; or at a store, gallery or show that features their work. If the place we gather doesn’t happen to serve drinks or food, we bring our own or end the night at a place around the corner that does.
