We are delighted to welcome Ian Blatchford, Director of the Science Museum Group as part of the Blackburn Creative Careers Seminars.

Ian is an atypical museum man. Holding senior roles in numerous world-renowned institutions including the Victoria and Albert Museum, Arts Council, Royal Academy of Arts and Bank of England he started his career as a merchant banker after reading law at Oxford and holds an MA in Renaissance Studies from Birkbeck College, University of London. He was awarded the Pushkin Medal in 2015.

Under Ian’s guidance the Science Museum Group has experienced record-breaking audience figures, with over 5 million people visiting the Group’s museums in in 2015/2016.
