This year, the Fair will celebrate the literature and culture of the Caribbean
New York, NY, September, 2012 – A wonderful day for literature lovers! The 7th edition of the Big Apple’s finest literary gathering, NY Book Fair Expo, will take place September 30 at 2pm at the Queens Museum of Art, Flushing Meadow Corona Park. The always popular Fair runs with local exhibitors from around the world in a festive atmosphere. This year, the Fair will celebrate the literature and culture of the Caribbean.
TOP CONFIRMED AUTHORS
Each year, the Fair raises the bar of excellence by offering a fine group of authors, and this year will be no eception. Confirmed authors include Jaime Manrique, author of “Cervantes Street”, Valentina Arango, a young Latina author of a children’s book and winner of the 12th Annual International Latino Book Awards Best Young Adult Nonfiction, Marta Quintín Maza, author of “Dime una palabra”, David Mills will be presenting his new book, “Jubilation!”, Yloven Abreu, Gustavo Arango, Miguel Falquez Certain, Andrea Tierra, Jimmy Valdez, Dora Vasquez Montoya and many others.
The Fair will again treat book lovers to all day of cultural and educational activities, including a dialogue with the Colombian writer Jaime Manrique, conducted by the English translator of his works Juan Merino.
This year’s program includes the special presentation of the pianist and composer Gabriel Guerrero, who also will present his solo album “Feyas”, raging influences from be-bop, avant-garde, contemporary jazz, classical music as well as South American rhythms. The Soundtrack 7 Band will close the event with a live concert.
In addition, the Fair will offer free tickets to participate in raffles while enjoying live music and a Sunday afternoon cocktail.
