Imagine Yoga (4-7 year olds)
Sunday, May 20, 2012 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM (EDT)
Learn basic yoga poses through imagination and play. Focus will be on body awareness, motor coordination and ways to express your emotions.
Each class will begin with a series of breathing practices and warm up exercises followed by yoga poses aimed at the individual interest, energies and developmental stages of each group. Classes will include active and passive poses that promote Body Awareness, Mental Focus and Concentration, Posture, Flexability, Balance, Strength, Energy, and Quiet Relaxation.
The course is a five class series. Classes will be held every other week for one hour. The class dates are as follows:

Please come 10 minutes prior to class to set up and relax. All classes will conclude with 5-10 minutes of relaxation. Feel free to bring a water bottle, mat and or blanket. Wear comfortable clothing and try to avoid eating a heavy meal prior to class. Classes are designed to make learning fun and students are encouraged to take their lessons off the mat and into their schools and home.

About the Instructor: Debbie Newell
For the past 24 years, Debbie has cared for others as a registered nurse. Debbie enjoys caring for the babies and their families in Mercy Hospital's NICU. Debbie loves teaching new parents how to care for their babies at home. Four years ago, she began taking care of herself by learning yoga. Yoga has improved her physically and helps her to stay relaxed and enjoy life to the fullest. Debbie began teaching yoga to family and friends who also saw the positive aspests of yoga. Debbie recently became a certified yoga teacher at training in Costa Rica. Debbie enjoys working with children and their families to improve their lives in any way she can. Debbie looks forward to meeting your child and introducing them to yoga.
