Thursday, April 23, 2009 from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM (ET)
This will be a unique event, different in scope than a typical Peace Corps information session. Jason Beach, a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer from Mali, will sit with a diverse panel to give a brief introduction of himself and the international path that led him to his current career. After this, there will be a "question and answer" session with the attendants. Other organizations in attendatnce are National Geographic, Glimpse, and the Department of State.
If you are interested in knowing :
• How international workers become interested in a particular field/role?
• How studying abroad/volunteering abroad/living abroad prior to beginning a career helps to open international career options?
• What skills and abilities someone needs to do a job overseas-- i.e., language fluency, flexibility, adaptability, etc.
• About any tips/recommendations for getting abroad - either in the short term or for a longer term career?
Then this is an event that you want to attend.
