Thai Hot Stem Massage!!
Learn from the only certified trainer in Canada.
It is with delight, I introduce Dana Pharant, our instructor of a wonderful new massage technique ~ Thai Hot Stem Massage. After having experienced one of these multi-technique massages I can pretty much guarantee this will be the most asked for indulgence on your massage menu. It's absolute bliss!
This massage is new to North America, and Dana Pharant, RMT is the only certified instructor for this technique in Canada.
What is Thai Hot Stem Massage?
What it is NOT: It is NOT Thai Yoga (traditional Thai massage) and it is NOT massage using only herbal compresses. It is not a technique from Thailand either! Nor is it "just fluffy relaxation". (See testimonials below)
What it IS: This multi-faceted full body treatment technique (developed in North America) incorporates acupressure, shiatsu, lomi lomi, yoga thai stretches and the use of herbal stems from Thailand. Through the multi-faceted technique and comprehensive pattern, every fibre of the client's bodyis gently and completely coaxed to relax, leaving them in a wonderful state of melted bliss. It's not only beneficial as a relaxation massage, but provides the same release and relief as a Deep Tissue massage - without the discomfort!
The incorporation of the heated herbal stems not only completes client relaxation through direct application of moist warmth, but the stems are compiled of organically grown herbs: a four-hundred year old medical Thai recipe combining herbs known for their detoxification, anti-inflammatory and pain relieving properties. For the earth conscious client, it's good to know these herbs are grown and the stems compiled in a fair wage environment. Clients may take the stems home after treatment to allow the aromatic properties of the herbal recipe to "extend the bliss".
How do I benefit?
Not only will this be the most requested indulgence on your treatment menu, but the billing point for this technique is suggested to be superior to many other techniques. Many therapists are billing $30 to $50 above their posted price for Hot Stone treatments. Also, when the technique is administered properly, it is ergonomically easier (than traditional massage) on the clinician's body enabling him/her to accommodate more appointments throughout the day. Hence, higher billing and increased billing opportunity. Additionally, because the technique is easier on the clinician, their career life may be extended. It is well known in the massage therapy industry, that physical burnout has long been an issue. Here is a wonderful solution for all parties.
BONUS: Once you have taken the workshop with us, any future purchases of the stems will be at a fabulous "Workshop Graduate" discount.

Facial Thai Hot Stem Workshop
(Sometimes referred to as Level II - Thai Hot Stem Massage Training)
The Thai Hot Stem Facial has its roots in the Herbal Compress concept that has been used for hundreds of years in Thailand. Then it has been blended with European skin care as well as specific techniques from Swedish Massage, Chinese Acupressure and Chinese Facial Reflexology.
This methodology was developed by Dana Pharant, RMT, who has been a Massage Therapist and educator for 16+ years. She has developed the technique to create a treatment which can be utilized for both musculoskeletal disorders as well as incorporated into skin care routines. A versatile treatment, it is therefore applicable as a single treatment, or can be incorporated into other facial routines and/or body treatments/massages.
In this one day hands-on workshop, you will learn and master the techniques for the Facial Treatment using Thai Hot Stems. The three types of available compresses (stems) are luxurious and soothing to the skin. Participants will learn which stems to use for different skin types. You will have the opportunity to administer and also experience facial massages with each of the three compresses (clay, sesame and coconut).

What about On-site Training?
On-site training is now available for your team. We would be pleased to arrange for Dana Pharant, RMT to come to you. Training can be for as many therapists (massage therapists and estheticians) as you like (8 to 20) for a flat rate. This option allows you to customize your product needs. We will consult with you in advance to determine the best package of steamer pots, Thai stems and training DVDs, to enable your team to begin promoting and practicing this new technique immediately after the course. The course is two full days of training, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. both days. Therapists will learn and practice through this hands-on course, and will be monitored closely as they progress. For on-site information, please give us a call 1-888-877-8881.
An additional course (one day) could be added for Hot Stone Massage or Thai Hot Stem Facial Massage should you have clinicians who would benefit from additional training. Again, any product needs would be customized for your team.
Call me with any questions you may have and with your schedule in hand so we can determine the best training dates for you. The best time to reach me is Monday to Wednesday, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time)
Testimonials
"This workshop was PERFECT. The best workshop I've ever done!" - workshop participant (completed at end of workshop - all forms are anonymous)
"I just gave my first Thai Hot Stem Treatment and my client loved it, and she even gave me a $20 tip. Thank you the workshop was great." Diana V., RMT
"My client was in pain 24/7. He had tried physio, chiropractor and massage, but these modalities only worked for 2 hours after treatment. The client was nearly asleep when the Thai Hot Stem Massage was over. He reported no pain in joints or muscles and couldn't believe how great they felt even through to the following morning! He absolutely loved the treatment." Mary G., RMT
"Dana, Once again thank you for excellent teaching and training on March 9 and 10 for the Thai stem massage. I did my first clinic massage on a regular client this week and she has booked another in about 10 days .... Thanks for including the steamer and stems in the course package, it really makes it a lot easier to integrate the new technique rather than having to go out separately and get everything.
Best regards, Beth Cooper, RMT"
