Event date: Wednesday, April 18, 2012 6pm est/3pm pst Multi-award-winning author Pinckney Benedict delivers a brief live reading from Miracle Boy and Other Stories, his newest short story collection, on Wednesday, April 18, 6 p.m. EST. The reading will be followed by a lively Q&A with audience members. Pinckney Benedict grew up on his family’s dairy farm in Greenbrier County, West Virginia. He graduated from Princeton University, where he studied primarily with Joyce Carol Oates, and from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Stories from his new collection, Miracle Boy and Other Stories, won him an Individual Artist Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts and a Fellowship in Prose from the Illinois Arts Council; they have appeared in Esquire, Ontario Review, the anthologies New Stories From the South, Pushcart Prize: Best of the Small Presses, the O.Henry Award series, The Best of Tin House, The Best of Zoetrope All-story, The Ecco Anthology of the Contemporary American Short Story, and the upcoming Oxford Book of American Short Stories.
