WEBINAR: Meaningful Use Core Measure 15 - Privacy and Security

Ray Young, Information Technology Officer

Small practice providers aiming to achieve Meaningful Use must conduct or review a security risk analysis of their certified EHR technology and implement updates as necessary at least once prior to the end of the EHR reporting period.

Security updates are required for security deficiencies identified during the risk analysis. A security update could be updated software for certified EHR technology to be implemented as soon as available, changes in workflow processes or storage methods, or any other necessary corrective action that needs to take place in order to eliminate the security deficiency or deficiencies identified in the risk analysis.

During the webinar, we will go over few guidelines that highlight some security features available to small practices through the EHR system and tools that will assist small practices in conducting a risk analysis and risk management plan.

To receive the full Medicare and Medicaid EHR incentives for 2012, you must begin meeting Meaningful Use for 90 days by October 3, 2012.

This webinar is open to members of NYC REACH only. If you are not yet a member of NYC REACH, visit our Membership information page at nycreach.org for instructions on how to join at no cost, or contact pcip@health.nyc.gov with any questions.

NYC REACH

The NYC Regional Electronic Adoption Center for Health (NYCREACH) is a collaboration between the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the Fund for Public Health in New York to help make sure doctors in New York City don't get left behind. Our mission is to assist them in adopting technology and methods that measurably improve the health of New Yorkers. Some providers may also be eligible for incentives for EHR use from federal, state, or private programs. Our job is to help offset the transition cost and burden as much as possible through training, education, and links to funding sources.
