Vocalists are wanted in Leeds as auditions for Open Mic UK, the national music talent competition for vocalists and solo artists in the UK, begin this summer. Vocalists are wanted in Leeds as Open Mic UK, the competition that discovered Birdy and Hatty Keane, is searching for the UK’s best vocalists, singer/songwriters, rappers and vocalists. Leeds vocalists are wanted as Open Mic UK is coming to Yorkshire Dance Studio, Leeds on Sunday 9th September 2012. Check out the Open Mic UK promo video here:

Vocalists in Leeds that enter Open Mic UK can perform either covers or original material throughout the competition. Open Mic UK offers vocalists in Leeds not only the chance to win prizes, but the opportunity to perform live in some of the best music venues in the country and the Open Mic UK Grand Final takes place at the best live music venue in the country – The 02 in Leeds! This year, it could be you!
There will be £50,000 worth of prizes up for grabs for vocalists in Leeds, and the winning act will not only be crowned the Best On The Mic in front of a packed out crowd at The 02 in Leeds, but they will also be offered a recording contract to release their single.
The competition is divided into age categories: 16 and under, 17-22 and 23 and over. Open Mic UK is all about finding an act that has the ability to become a professional recording artist.
