Intro to Design-Build
Design-Build is an alternate project delivery method that studies have shown can deliver a project 33% faster through design and construction, 12% faster during construction and cost 6% less, with equal or greater quality over traditional design bid build. Most States have authorized its use including Wyoming where Design-Build is permitted by all agencies for all types of construction. Come learn the fundamental principles of Design-Build project delivery including the differences between alternative forms of project delivery, 2 step selection process – the RFQ and the RFP, Best Value source selection, contracts and risk and best management practices. We’ll present some example of regional design build projects. Information for opportunities to advance one’s training in Design-Build will also be provided. An open forum and Q&A session will allow dialogue among the participants.
