Song Writing Workshop

Songs inspire hope, break hearts, rock worlds, unite people, shake booties, and turns blahs into blues. Come to this workshop and encourage the songwriter in you by tapping into your own resources, stories, and memories for song ideas.  We will talk about the practice of songwriting, how melody makes the lyrics “sing”, and how to write the “hook” – the part that gets into your head and won’t shake loose. Lunch is included in the registration fee.  This program is designed for anyone aged 10 and above.

8:30 am  Arrive at the Burrow Center for Fine and Performing Arts, Room 113*

8:45                 Introductions and workshop sessions begin

11:30               Lunch

12:30 pm         Continuation of workshop

3:30                 Wrap Up and Sharing of Songs (optional)

4:00                 Depart

Time will be allowed for breaks as needed.

*turn onto campus at the Hardees/Post Office red light and the Burrow Center will be the first building one on the right.  Room 113 is on the first floor.
