Meet, Plan, Go! - San Francisco 4-17-12
Tuesday, April 17, 2012 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM (PDT)
San Francisco, CA
Travelers, would-be travelers, and dreamers: Join Meet, Plan, Go! San Francisco at Hostelling International to find out how to break from your job and make your travel dreams a reality.
In March, we talked volunteering abroad and over 80 people learned how to incorporate it into their big trips. This month we’ll share information on how to budget for that big trip and make that budget last for long-term travel. A career break to travel is affordable and achievable! Mingle with others to find inspiration, share experiences, and learn invaluable travel tips.
ABOUT YOUR HOSTS
In 2008, Kristin Zibell left marriage and corporate life to begin living her travel dreams. She traveled around the world over the next two years to India, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Europe—volunteering, touring, trekking, photographing and blogging along the way. To pay for her adventures, she used her past life's professional experience to consult between trips. Traveling long term has changed her forever and now she writes the blog Take Your Big Trip to inspire others to live their travel dreams. After her last big trip in 2010, Kristin chose San Francisco as her new home and travels around the city discovering its treasures with her Treasure Map Project.
Spencer Spellman Spencer is a traveling writer and blogger, originally from North Carolina and outfitted with a fierce Southern drawl, who currently calls San Francisco home. While he has traveled around the world, Europe is his first love, a love that is sustained back home by micro brews, fish and chips, soccer and golf.
Ted Beatie was born with the soul of an adventurer and is happiest when he’s off the beaten track. His favorite places include the Sahara desert, 100 feet underwater among the coral reefs of Fiji, and Burning Man. While he calls himself a diver, firedancer, aerial acrobat, actor, technologist and cyclist, his true passion is showing people a side of the world that they didn’t realize was there, through photography and writing. He is active on Facebook and Twitter, and maintains a travel blog and photo gallery at The Pocket Explorer. He is also the managing editor for Rolf Potts' Vagabonding Blog, and curates weekly Vagabonding Case Studies of real people going on, currently on, or returned from long term travel. He can be reached by email: firstname.lastname@example.org. Website: The Pocket Explorer | Twitter: @PocketExplorer
