WellPetUSA will be exhibiting at the Swarthmore Charity Fun Fair in Swarthmore, PA on April 19, 2009.
Event Schedule:
10:30 a.m. - Registration / 12:00 p.m. - Lions 5k Fun Walk & Run and Bike Tour
Just before the 1:15 Wawa Kick-off Parade, the Lions 5K Fun-Walk & Run and the Bike Tour will begin near the Train Station and move through the safe, sidewalked streets and paths of the Borough and the College campus, ending at the Fun-Fair.
1:15 p.m. - Parade down Park Avenue
Parada will include the outstanding Strath Haven marching band, color guard, fire engines, and local and State dignitaries in convertibles and all the Village services. Then comes the costume parade section with all the folks who dress in "Make Dreams Real" costumes.
2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. – Entertainment & Food
There will be continuous entertainment on each of the three raised sound stages around the Village. From start to end, the Food Court will be serving a wide array of wonderful snacks and mouth-watering food and (non-alcoholic) drinks.
The mission of WellPetUSA is to raise awareness to prevent the abuse of animals in the USA or remove them from harmful environments all together. The WellPetUSA team cares about pet wellness and their needs. Making a pet well entails many things; it is a daunting, yet doable task. WellPetUSA provides fundraising and community pet education and welfare, to distribute funds to local and national organizations to assist in the health of animals.
In 2000, the founders and the board determined that more focused direction and values were required. Therefore, WellPetUSA team members currently concentrate the organization’s efforts in the areas of fundraising and community pet education and welfare. Thus, two new programs, The Meow Bow Wow fund and Pet Education, Awareness and Training (P.E.A.T) were created in 2000. Amber's Pets was created in 2008.
* The Meow Bow Wow Fund raises and distributes funds to rescue groups and the general public to help offset medical costs.
* P.E.A.T is a program designed to educate the community and pet owners about pet welfare.
* Amber's Pets was created in 2008 to honor our founder and will award funds each year to one rescue group or needy family to treat a pet afflicted with cancer.
