Join us for the next #BuildSocial event: Building on Twitter. Learn how to collect and analyze big data from the Twitter fire hose, and how to navigate the Twitter API.
The event is Wednesday April 18th 6:30pm @ Notman House (51 Sherbrooke West). There will be 2 presentations and a group discussion. A portion of the "analyzing Twitter data" discussion will be non-technical, otherwise, the presentations will be most suitable for developers and product managers.
Strategies for working with Twitter data
- Colin Surprenant is the Lead Engineer at Needium will present on using the Storm framework with the RedStorm JRuby DSL for processing Twitter stream
Harvesting Twitter data via SiteStream
- André-Philippe Paquet & Alain Wong from Wajam will present on the scalability issues to support a system that do both real-time and batch importation
