2012 Container Gardening Workshop

Want to grow vegetables, but feel you don't have the lawn space? Try growing vegetables in a container garden this year. Find out how at the Monadnock Localvore Project's Urban Gardening/Container Gardening Workshop on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 5:30pm at Stonewall Farm in Keene, NH. We'll cover topics such as:
Choosing the right containers & vegetables
Selecting stoop or porch fruits
Growing herbs in the window
Trellis ideas for tomatoes & cucumbers
Identifying and dealing with common insects & diseases
Presenter: Amanda Maurmann, garden manager at Stonewall Farm
Amanda Maurmann has been playing in the dirt and growing food for 7 years, 5 of them at Stonewall Farm.
This outdoor workshop will be held rain or shine. No need to bring a chair. Be sure to wear clothes you can get dirty!

Turn right off of route 9 onto Chesterfield Rd, farm is 1/2 mile down on right hand side.
OR turn off of Park Ave onto Arch St continue past Keene high school, under stone arch bridge, farm opens up below you and we are the driveway on the left.
Registration for this workshop is limited. The sliding scale fee is $5-15; but no one will be turned away due to lack of funds. Workshop fees will be used to promote and support youth farm education. Questions? call 734-395-6268
