Classic Cathead Basket

Intermediate Level

Sunday, July 22

Instructor: JoAnn Kelly Catsos

Class times: 9am-4pm

Total fee: $150 CSV Members, $165 non-members ($65 materials fee)

In this intermediate basketry class, you will design a 'Classic Cathead Basket'.

This icon of Shaker basketry is based upon an antique basket, woven at the Shaker communities in New England. It is woven of finely prepared black ash splint, and incorporates a 'bonnet' handle, which resembles the front brim of a Shaker sister's bonnet.  Previous basketry experience is suggested.
