Join us for a ride on the
EAST COAST GREENWAY
From Manhattan to City Island
Sunday April 22, 2012 9:00 AM
Starting point: W 43rd St & Hudson River Greenway @ Bike & Roll
Ending Point: City Island, Bronx NY
Join us for a 25-mile one-way bicycle ride from W 43rd St. NYC to City Island in the Bronx! The ride will be at a very easy pace of between 10 and 13 MPH. We will explore existing portions of the East Coast Greenway, which include the Hudson River Greenway, Bronx River Greenway, Bronx River Forest, Mosholu Greenway, Van Cortlandt Park Greenway, and Pelham Parkway Greenway. We will also ride on on-road portions of the East Coast Greenway through historic neighborhoods in the Bronx and northern Manhattan. At City Island we will have lunch at a local picnicking park.
We usually ride rain or shine but if the weather is particularly unpleasant, you will receive a cancellation email at 7:45AM on the day of the ride.
Plan on providing your own transportation home. To return to Bike & Roll: take the 6 subway from Pelham Bay Park to 42nd St. or cycle back.
