Event Details

ASTP organises her Annual Conference on 'Best Practices in Transfer of Science and Technology' on the 28th and 29th in Ghent- Belgium.

Conference program
- An introductory track that focuses on ‘Spinning out’, with special attention to when (not) to create a spin-off, the business plan, raising capital and shareholder agreements, also through workshops

- Series of sessions focusing on our interactions with the various players in the tech transfer ecosystem: the researchers, the university government, industry, and politics/government officials: what does each of them want from us, and how to live up to all the different expectations?

- A track on ‘Challenges in technology transfer’, focussing on the various aspects we come across every day: valutation of technologies, what about Arts & Humanities, proof-of-concept schemes revaluated, valorization of tissue- and databanks, and post deal follow-up.

As always, our aim (as practitioners ourselves) is to identify topics that are of immediate relevance and interest to members and to bring in those with current expertise and experience who can speak knowledgably, openly and provocatively on each topic.

Networking events
Besides the regular program we also offer a social program and a welcome cocktail on Wednesday and a conference dinner on Thursday. These events allow you to network with other Tech Transfer Professionals.
