Greetings from ViewFinder!
I want to take this opportunity to make sure you are up-to-date on the details regarding ViewFinder's May 6th People & Portraits with Great Light course. For several of you who have attended courses in the past, there are a couple small changes to be aware of.
Time/Schedule: Our course will begin promptly at 10:00 and we will take ca. 60 minutes for lunch at 12:00. We'll resume after lunch and finish up with the course 16:00.
Please be aware that ViewFinder's new location is in Winterthur
at the following address: Zürcherstrasse 77, (CH-8406)
. Here is a link
taking you to a Google Map with our classroom location marked. If you're coming into Winterthur by train then you'll want to continue by bus (#1 (to Töss), #5 (to Dättnau), or #7 (to Bahnhof Wülflingen). Step off the bus at "Gaswerk."
Continue by foot (in the same direction as the bus traveled) to the nearest pedestrian crossing (50 meters). Cross over Zürcherstrasse (not towards Burger King) and you'll be standing directly in front of our door. Our building is silver with red painted steps.
We have a reservation for the group at Cardinal Ristorante Pizzeria
and you are very welcome to join us there for lunch. If you have special dietary needs, then please feel free to bring your own lunch with you. If you do not plan to eat lunch with us, please let me know in advance so that I can adjust our table reservation. For your information, lunch is not included in your registration fee.
Our Day: The course will take place indoors (presentation) and outside (shooting exercises). For this reason, please be sure to bring appropriate clothing and footwear. Please check the forecast ahead of time and dress for comfort - you're a photographer, not a model (at least not on course day) :-)
Equipment: You are responsible for bringing your own camera, lens(es), battery, and memory card with you. Check to make sure your batteries are charged up and there is ample space left on your memory card. We will have a mix of different camera's among the participants, and for this reason we advise you to bring your camera manual with you for finding settings which may not be so obvious on the outside of the camera.
Course materials: We will provide each participant with an outline of the course presentation to take home as a reference. If you wish to bring along a notebook - great, otherwise feel free to take notes on the presentation handout. The course outline will be made available to everyone who attends.
We're very excited to see you all at the course! Travel safe and see you soon.
