Native Public Media invites you to an honoring event and cultural feast; and time to participate in the Native network listening session, network with other Native radio folks and media makers, and attend training on station compliance at this year's Annual Native Media Summit in the heart of Indian Country--Santa Fe, New Mexico--on the beautiful campus of the Institute of American Indian Arts.

This year, NPM will host an intense two-day summit with training, education, engagement and celebration. One of the best things of the Native Media Summit is bringing together media makers that serve Indian Country. The goals of the Summit are to expand the capacity and service of the Native media network by enabling its leaders to learn from each other; and to deliver training and information that is critical to the growth and sustainability of our Native media network. The community benefit of the Summit is for Native media makers to prosper and grow as a system; it is an opportunity for Native station managers to address compliance challenges unique to Native America; and celebrate the success of Tribal media in serving Native America.

Native Public Media

Native Public Media’s mission is to promote healthy, engaged and independent Native Communities through media access, control and ownership.

Our name "Native Public Media" reflects the organization’s explicit vision to empower Native people across the United States to participate actively in all forms of media and to do it on our own terms. Media has a vital role to play in supporting tribal economic and community development and is tied directly to the Nation building efforts of sovereign Tribes.

THE 4 PILLARS OF NPM

Native Public Media values forging tribal centric solutions to Native communications needs and over the past seven years concentrated on four quadrants of service to Native media makers and communities:

Community Engagement

Providing Native Communities with the Access, Knowledge and Resources to Ensure that Native Americans Have a Voice to Fully Participate and Benefit From the Information Age.

Digital Ecology

Creating A Digital Footprint For Media Growth In Indian Country.

Storytelling
