A Circle of Recovery for Women (May/GGF)
Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 10:00 AM (PDT)
Muir Beach, CA
10 am - 5 pm
Green Gulch Yurt
led by Laura Burges
In this retreat, we will explore how meditation and recovery can support and sustain our deepest intention. Meditation instruction will be provided and we will have opportunities for sitting and walking meditation. There will be a dharma talk and discussion and we will close with a 12-Step meeting. This retreat is designed for those actively engaged in a 12-Step program. A vegetarian lunch will be provided in the dining room, and is included in the fee.
Laura Burges, a lay teacher in the Soto Zen tradition, lectures and leads retreats at different practice centers in Northern California. Her column "Is That So?" appears on the Zen Center's website. Laura received lay teacher entrustment from her teacher Eijun Linda Cutts in April 2009.

When & Where
San Francisco Zen Center (SFZC)
Established in 1962 by Shunryu Suzuki Roshi and his American students, San Francisco Zen Center is a Soto Zen Buddhist community with three practice places in the SF Bay Area: City Center, an urban temple in the heart of San Francisco; Green Gulch Farm, in Marin County, where fertile fields meet the ocean; and Tassajara Zen Mountain Center, the first Zen training monastery in the West, in the Ventana Wilderness inland from Big Sur. At San Francisco Zen Center, zazen, study, and work practice are available to a diverse population of students, visitors, lay people, priests, and monks. All are welcome!
