Event Details

Back by popular demand, we’re delighted to be offering our basic broadcast interview skills training day again in 2009.

As someone responsible for giving TV or radio interviews for your charity, you’ll learn what journalists want, and the kind of broadcast media interviews you might be asked to do. We’ll cover: what makes a story, and how to pitch it; what to expect on the interview day; and how to prepare for interview, with key messaging.

  • how to interpret questions
  • how to speak (slowly, concisely, clearly)
  • how to respond to difficult questions that you may not feel qualified to answer
  • how to make sure your organisation is appropriately mentioned in the interview

Throughout the day, there will be hands-on practical exercises, and interview practice. We’ll also listen to real examples of radio interviews. At the end of the training, delegates are provided with sound files of their practice interviews.

Lunch and refreshments provided.
