Corgi Cottage Tour: House and Garden

We are pleased to introduce an all-new tour format!   We receive so many requests to tour Tasha’s home.  We first added a partial tour of Tasha’s home to our summer tours in 2011.  After a few practices, we’ve refined the tour to focus solely on Tasha’s home and gardens.  Read on…

Meet the family and join us for this rare opportunity:  a guided tour of the first floor of Tasha's home as well as her barn, outdoor hall, dairy, hen pantry, gardens, greenhouse and more. Enjoy the beauty and peace of the Tudor property as your senses drink in the nurturing environment.

After a brief welcome at the Rookery, we’ll wind our way through the forest,  Tasha’s oft-photographed field, and leave the rest of the world behind as we step through the gate into the magical place Tasha created. 

Tasha often described her home as a chipmunks nest.  As such, while two small groups tour inside (one with Seth, one with Marjorie), Winslow will lead a larger group through the garden while sharing tips and tidbits about gardening with Tasha, his Granny. The groups will then switch, so everyone will get a chance to see all of Tasha’s property.  During the tour, brownies and lemonade will be available for your enjoyment.

The Rookery Gift Shop, which features books, prints, cards, tea, videos, furniture, rare books and much more, will be open after the tour.  Rain, shine or extreme heat, the event will go on as scheduled. Privies (also known as outhouses) will be available before and after the tour.

Due to the private nature of the Tudor Family, cameras will not be allowed on the tour.  However, we will take a group photo in Tasha's garden and mail copies a few weeks after the tour.  You are welcome to take photographs at the Rookery.

As you might imagine, tickets are very limited. Proceeds from the ticket sales directly support the restoration of Tasha’s beloved home and gardens. In 2012, Winslow Tudor will be restoring the hollyhock bank, the lower terrace in addition to continuing the new cedar roof as seen in the Rookery Ramblings post.  Tasha’s home is privately owned by her family who are currently researching historical designations and other such programs.

Please note: For those of you who have previously been on the tours, formerly known as The Secret Gardens of Tasha Tudor and Family Tours, you might notice that we are no longer including the catered lunch, thus the price reduction.Additionally, in order to spend more time at Corgi Cottage, we have removed the other Family gardens from the tour.  Our attempts to include everything in 2011, made for tours that were not as relaxing as we like them to be.

Cancellation Policy: Any cancellations made sixty days prior to tour date will be refunded minus a processing fee of $25. Any cancellations within sixty days of the tours will be refunded minus the processing fee if that ticket is resold. We reserve the right to cancel tours due to unforeseen circumstances and extreme forces of nature.

Eventbrite Policy: For the first time, we are selling our tour tickets online via eventbrite.com.  Should this new service result in any problems such as overselling, misunderstandings, etc, we reserve to right to refund your ticket.  Once you receive directions directly from Tasha Tudor and Family, you may rest assured that your ticket will be honored.  Good luck!
