Watch top chefs, doctors and reporters compete to make the best gluten-free dish!

The National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA) invites you to participate in the Gluten-Free Cooking Spree, event that joins together the medical and lifestyle aspects of celiac disease to educate both doctors and chefs about celiac disease and the gluten-free diet.

*Top chefs, doctors and reporters will be put on teams of three. Each team will have one chef, one doctor and one reporter. Together, the doctor, chef and reporter will work to create the best gluten-free dish.

*Attendees will sample the food cooked by the chefs and enjoy a large assortment of other gluten-free food options. Come hungry!

*All attendees will take home a fabulous goodie bag filled with treats from a variety of gluten-free vendors.

*A three-person panel will judge the recipes and award a prize to the winning team.

And more!

* Experts in the field of celiac disease will give us an update on the latest research.

* Dr. Vikki Petersen will discuss The Gluten Effect and be on hand to sign this new book.

* Visit the Dieititans Corner to get the answers to your questions about the gluten-free lifestyle from Cheryl Harris, a registered dietitian and nutritionist practicing in Alexandria, VA.

* Ask the Chef:  Chef James Harris of Harrahs Resort in Atlantic City will be on hand to give you tips about gluten-free coooking and dining out, gluten-free.

* A silent auction and raffle will offer guests a chance to win valuable prizes, including a romance package at the Hyatt Regency Bethesda and dinners at area restaurants serving gluten-free food.

National Foundation for Celiac Awareness

The National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of celiac in order to gain prompt and accurate diagnosis for those suffering, support the health and wellbeing of those with the disease, and facilitate research that will better understand the disorder and find a cure. Visit www.celiaccentral.org for information.

Celiac disease is an autoimmune digestive disease that damages the small intestine and interferes with absorption of nutrients from food. Left untreated, people with celiac disease can develop further complications such as other autoimmune diseases, and some cancers. 1 in 133 Americans have celiac disease, but over 95% live undiagnosed. The only known treatment for celiac disease is a lifelong adherence to a gluten- free diet.
