The Talk About Town: Urban Lives & Oral Sources in 20th Century Australia

Walking Tour of Inner Melbourne - Wednesday 26 August 2009 - 3pm to 5pm

This tour will uncover the historical layers of the city from the State Library in Swanston Street, through the back streets of Little Lon and Chinatown, to the parliamentary precinct at the grid’s eastern edge. Associate Professor May will enliven the tour with his intimate knowledge of the social history of Melbourne’s street life.

Departs 3pm from the State Library of Victoria - Please meet in the foyer - Swanston Street Entrance, 

Will conclude by 5pm back at the State Library in time for the In Conversation with Alessandro Portelli Seminar at 5:30pm at the Village Roadshow Theatrette, State Library of Victoria , LaTrobe Street Entry 3.
