Wednesday, April 29, 2009 from 11:30 AM - 2:00 PM (MT)
Our session will describe how the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) procured, designed and built seventeen buildings to LEED Silver and Gold Standards valued in excess of $300M in 24 months using a pure performance based, design build process at the new Ft. Carson BCT-H Complex in Colorado.
The USACE - Omaha District in partnership with design builders Mortenson/Leo A Daly and Hensel Phelps/RNL has successfully constructed the BCT- H Complex in response to the challenges created by Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) and Military Transformation. The Brigade Battalion Headquarters Building constructed by Hensel Phelps has successfully secured a LEED Gold Certification, the six Maintenance Facilities constructed by Mortenson have LEED Silver Certification pending, and the four Barracks buildings also constructed by Hensel Phelps have LEED Silver Certification pending.
