Come to the Village Capital Enterprise Showcase, and meet twenty of India's most promising startup companies, using innovation to solve problems in health, education, energy, economic development, water, and agriculture. You'll get a chance to hear the companies present, and build relationships with potential investees and strategic partners.

About Village Capital
Village Capital uses peer groups to provide opportunity to world-changing companies. Inspired by the "village bank" in microfinance, we've launched fourteen education programs for entrepreneurs worldwide (India, Brazil, China, Kenya, UK, and the US), serving over 160 entrepreneurs and investing over USD $1.5 million directly into companies. This is our third India cohort, in partnership with Dasra/Social-Impact.
Village Capital provides opportunity to India's most promising companies that seek impact beyond just financial returns. In partnership with Dasra-Social Impact, 20 enterprises have gone through six months of intensive training and business development--focused on peer support. On March 20th, there is USD 75,000 investment up for grabs, with a twist: the entrepreneurs themselves will select who gets funded.
About Under the Mango Tree
Under the Mango Tree, India's first and largest organic honey trader, lives by the mantra of "bees for poverty reduction." Founded by Vijaya Pastala, Under the Mango Tree makes honey-based products in a supply chain that increases the income of rural farmers; its honey is popular in restaurants, hotels, workplaces, and households across India.
About First Light
First Light Accelerator, seeks to invest in scalable opportunities across India that are addressing energy/environmental sustainability and affordable basic services for the poor. The First Light team has a long history of seed-stage investment in India, funding companies such as Milaap, Promethean Power, v-shesh, Under the Mango Tree, and SABRAS.
About Shell Foundation
Shell Foundation is a UK-based charity that catalyses enterprise based solutions to development challenges. The Foundation has a particular current interest in seed stage energy companies that are beyond the R&D phase, and has supported companies across India, including D.Light and Husk Power.
About Mumbai Angels
Mumbai Angels is a Section 25 Company founded in November 2006 with the objective of promoting entrepreneurship in India. Today., MA has over 150 members from diverse background providing a unique platform to start-ups and very early stage companies for funding as well as mentoring. Since inception, MA has invested in over 40 companies with 6 partial/full exits and has had follow on round in over 12 companies.
About Dasra/Social-Impact
For over ten years, Dasra has provided coaching and business development assistance to India’s top nonprofit social entrepreneurs. As for-profits increasingly have played a role in social change in India, Dasra has started to provide resources to India’s highest-impact companies. The Dasra-Social Impact program is a six-month program that provides assistance to the most promising social enterprises in India.

Village Capital provides opportunity to enterprises improving their communities and the world. Over 250 entrepreneurs have gone through 14 Village Capial programs worldwide, and Village Capital has enabled over $2 million in investment directly into companies through a unique model where the entrepreneurs themselves select investment. Village Capital's most recent program, Village Capital-Atlanta, supported 16 local enterprises this spring, with support from Stites and Harbison, InvestAtlanta, the Foundation Center, Hub-Atlanta, and Social Enterprise at Goizueta.
Points of Light is the leading volunteer organization with a mission is to inspire, equip and mobilize people to take action that changes the world. In 2011, 4.3 million people tackled problems in their communities through our networks including HandsOn Action Centers, generationOn, AmeriCorps Alums and Corporate Institute. The Civic Incubator, a division of Points of Light, serves as a catalyst for innovation by supporting, investing and helping to grow the impact of social entrepreneurs and their civic ventures through several programs including the Civic Accelerator.
