EMT Basic Refresher Course
Course Description
The EMT Refresher course is designed for students who possess a current EMT-B card and who need to complete 24 hours of continuing education and sit for the competency-based written and skills certification examination in accordance with the standards of the California State and Health Code, Title 22.
The EMT Refresher module is designed for EMT-B students who need all or only a partial EMT refresher course. This review course will provide the most up-to-date information in accordance with the standards of the California State and Health Code, Title 22.
This 4 day class includes 3 days of didactic training and a skills testing day.
Prerequisites
Students should possess a current EMT-B card.
Course Costs
Course costs do not include textbook. It is recommended that all students
Course Completion
Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a Completion Certificate with 8 continuing education units for each refresher course day attended, up to a maximum of 24 continuing education units. No continuing education units are provided for the testing day.
Textbooks
Textbooks are not required for this course but are highly recommended. "Essentials of Emergency Care, A Refresher for the Practicing EMT-B". 3rd Edition (ISBN # 0-13-094559-5)
Cancellation Policy
AMR Santa Barbara will process refunds for any course cancelled 3 business days prior to the course date. Students will be charged a $25.00 non-refundable registration fee plus the $37.00 non-refundable textbook fee.
AMR Santa Barbara reserves the right to cancel this course up to 3 business days prior to the course date. The above cancellation policy does not apply if AMR Santa Barbara cancels the course. Students will receive a full refund less the cost of unreturned textbook fees or fees for textbooks returned in unusable condition.
Rollover Policy
AMR Santa Barbara will accommodate rollover requests made 3 business days prior to the course date. There is a maximum of 2 rollovers for any student per class.
The American Heart Association (AHA) strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in CPR and cardiac care, and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Its use in an instruction course does not represent sponsorship by the AHA. Any Fees charged for such a course do not represent income to the Association.
