| Employment Eligibility Verification: How It Affects Your Business | |
|
This workshop allows participants to gain a better understanding on how to ensure that their workforce is legal. The discussion will cover issues on how to manage the I-9 process at the time of employee hiring; how to maintain I-9 files; and how to handle Social Security mismatch letters. It will also cover options for sponsoring foreign national employees for temporary work visas and green cards. A special emphasis will be placed on current enforcement trends, recent regulatory changes and policy changes in the Obama administration related to worksite enforcement. In addition, the workshop will explore the growing interest in numerous states that require (or are seeking to require) employers to “verify” their workforce is legal along with eligibility as a contractor/subcontractor on all state projects. Pending 2.5 HRCI credits. |
