Celebrate slow food in style with Community Shares at Vegan Slow Cooker Throwdown 6 to 8 p.m. on Meatless Monday, March 19 at Park + Vine. Show us your vegan slow cooking skills and see if you have what it takes to gain bragging rights! Try your hand at soups, stews, tofu..., tempeh, seitan and textured vegetable protein or a blend of your favorite veggies. We seriously want you to wow us with your mad slow cooking skills with at least one-gallon or samples for up to 50 people) and win prizes (to be determined). Up to 20 entrees are featured. Everyone who attends gets a ballot and votes in three categories. Judges include Community Shares Board President Tom Hodges, Yelp! Senior Community Manager Alex Shebar and Nikki Galea Franz of Crock of Love. It's $10 to enter and $15 for tastes. Kids under 10 are free. Drinks are separate. Fire up your crocks! Online registration opens Feb. 29.
