Urban Beer Hunt hits the streets of Seattle on March 4th, 2012.

Teams venture out on a journey, deciphering clues, solving puzzles and seeking out the many task locations and Beer Checkpoints that await them.

Each task and/or location requires a team photo.

Once all the tasks are completed, it's a race to the finish line with $1,000 in Cash and *Beer up for grabs.

Promising to be a crazy, wacked out adventure. This event is expected to sell out quickly.

If a state prohibits awarding beer as a prize, an alternate prize will be provided.

Overview:

Start/Finish: This event takes place in Downtown Seattle. Please review the Boundary on website for details. Teams should find a strategic location by reviewin the boundary map and be ready to start receiving text messages at noon.  The entire hunt runs via text message.  The location of the after party/awards ceremony will be texted out during the hunt.

Teams must pre-activate one cell phone to receive the text message clues.  Once you have completed registering your team online, you will receive an email with your tickets. Please review the details on your ticket and follow the directions to activate one cell phone. 

You must receive a text message confirmation in order to play.

Distance: About 5 miles (run or walk... just have fun!)

Duration: Figure about 2 hours, some a bit faster, some a bit slower.

After Party/Awards: 3:30 PM -  Food and drink specials will be available for purchase. Location will be texted out during the event.

What to bring:

$5 one dollar bills PER PLAYER to complete specific task. It will be necessary that you arrive one dollar bills as no change will be available at these tasks.

Digital Camera: 1 per team. Team photos required at each stop.

Internet: A cell phone or other device with internet or use phone-a-friends standing by to google for answers for you.

GPS or City street map: Can use your internet connected device for this.

Team dressed in costume: not required, but why not?

Registered/Activated cell phone to receive text clues during the hunt.

Basic Rules:

All teammates must be in all photos at each stop.

All teammates must be 21 or olders. BRING YOUR I.D.

Travel only on foot or public bus. No bikes, cars, skates, or other means allowed.

To win: Teams must first complete all the tasks correctly and then use the clues to hunt down and cross the finish line.

Typically the first team does not win, they get one of the tasks or photos wrong. Double check the details in the tasks.

Nobody likes a cheater. If you see a team cheating, such as using a vehicle or bike, please snap a pic and provide it to the event manager BEFORE the event awards. The team will be disqualified.

With prizes for 1st through 10th place teams, if you see a team has arrived before you, don't stop, there may be other slots open to win or, a team may not have all of their pics right.

Players may substitute pop or water in place of beer at each Beer Checkpoint.
