Event Details
The Tibetan Buddhist monks of the Drepung Gomang Monastery will create a sacred mandala over the four days before opening, and disperse the sand Opening Day, Sunday, May 20. The program will include a costumed Snow Lion Dance, participatory Om Mani Padme Hum stone painting activity, comparative discourse on Buddhist and Shaker principles, and Saturday morning yoga (first 50 registrants). Come for a day of activities Saturday or Sunday, or for a multiple day experience. Please note there will be no refunds given after Saturday, May 12th, 2012.

Om Mani Padme Hum is a powerful phrase uttered by Buddhists. It is believed to help achieve perfection in the practice of generosity, pure ethics, tolerance, patience, perseverance, concentration, and wisdom.
2:00pm--3:00pm "The Parallels between Shaker & Tibetan Buddhist Traditions" This one hour discourse will stimulate cultural perspective and provide an opportunity for participants to directly engage with the monks by asking questions.
