Every police officer and prevention provider wants to educate parents. But will parents attend?

A new grassroots program out of PA is achieving record numbers of parents attending to experience the Reality Tour Drug Prevention Program with their child.  Example: 700 parents/youth attended monthly Reality Tours in 2008 in the community of Butler, PA.

This comprehensive 3-hr program is the springboard for THE most powerful prevention tool - PARENTS.

Parents must be educated to begin to use their influence. The Reality Tour educates parent and child together, to form the foundation for future discussions in the home.

Reality Tour Developer Norma Norris will host this informative session to show how innovation and grassroots came together through a community need and formed a program that has spread throughout Pennsylvania communties and beyond. The evening program has reached thousands of self-referred PA parents and their children age 10+.

The developer has guided this substance abuse prevention program through University of Pittsburgh research to attain review by the National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices.
